Welcome to my new website and blog!

When I first created my last professional website, I used a simplistic look like other websites were using. Times have changed. Blogs, and social networking sites became popular, blogging software allows people to also make website’s out of them with a ton of add-ons and themes. I am not all that impressed with all the WordPress theme’s out there, but this one is nice. I thought about Joomla, but the blog would have to be seperate from the website, and Joomla is not the best for editing pages. I do beleive they have a WordPress integration module, but costs hundreds of dollars.

Another reason, I decided to go this route is, I used to blog on MySpace. Then, pleople started to move to Facebook, which I was even less found of than MySpace. Facebook decided to update thier privacy policy to say they own all your content. They did retract that policy due to user outcry. But, the damage was done. I have decided to blog on my own webhost, where I have control over my data. The only downside is getting friends to come here to read my blog. I have made it easy for them, they can get a daily e-mail with all my blog posts (only sent if I post something), and the usual RSS Feeds.

I hope everyone enjoys my new blog, and I would love to hear your comments and questions. Be sure to check out my LifeStream. It has kind of a Facebook / Twitter feel. Everytime I update this blog, my business blog, and my Flickr account, it is updated there too. I have desided to not have it follow my business Twitter account, as that is only updated every time I post to that blog. I have yet to deside if I want my personal Twitter account on there. If I do, then I have to open up my Twitters to the public.
